JOHN  C. WRIGHT,  MD             Orthopedic Surgery

  

Dr. John C. Wright received his undergraduate education at St Mary's University in San Antonio Texas. He attended Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and received his Orthopedic Residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He continues to serve in the Army Reserves, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has been deployed to Iraq for Desert Shield/Storm and to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Wright provides all types of orthopedic surgical procedures. His area of interest is Adult Reconstruction.

His is married and has 5 children. Dr. Wright has been involved in theater for 20 years. He has played many Shakespearian roles and enjoys hunting and fishing.

  DENNIS E.  OTTEMILLER, MD      Eye Surgery

 

Dr. Dennis E. Ottemiller  received his B.A. from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.  He graduated in 1987 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.  After an internship at Baptist Medical Centers, he was an emergency medicine physician at Cullman Medical Center in Alabama.  He completed a three year ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama.  He joined Bay Eye Clinic in 1992.  Dr. Ottemiller and his wife Susan, a registered oncology nurse, have two children.  They enjoy running, biking, camping, snow sports, and other family oriented activities on the coast.

  MARK  SILVER,  MD            Gastro-Intestinal Surgery

 

 

Mark Silver, MD, a graduate of the UCLA Medical School, is the senior physician at Brookings Harbor Medical Center (BHMC), practicing locally for the last 16 years.  He is a dedicated physician for Curry County Hospice and other community services.  Dr. Silver is a Board Certified Family Practice physician and has an interest in many medical fields including pediatrics, allergy, geriatrics and internal medicine.  Dr. Silver pioneered the Rural Health Clinic that is in the same building as Brookings-Harbor Medical Center.  He was instrumental in bringing health care to Oregon Health Plan Patients, and the under-served community in our area.

  RONALD  G. WORLAND, MD          Cosmetic & Hand Surgery

 

Dr. Ronald Worland is certifiied by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and has certification for added qualifications for Surgery of the Hand. He graducated with honors from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1966, and is a graduate of the University of Rochester Medical School in Rochester, New York.  He completed his general surgery training at UCLA Medical School in Los Angeles, then his plastic surgery training at the University of Rochester in New York, with a six month fellowship in head and neck cancer training at Roswell Park, in Buffalo, New York.  Military Service: Major, Air National Guard, New York and California.   Dr. Worland's primary interests include Cosmetic Surgery, Hand Surgery (with particular interest in nerve reconstructive surgery), and Cosmetic and Reconstructive  Breast Surgery.  He is a member of the American college of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Association for Surgery of the Hand, the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Surgery, Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He has presented more than 30 educational papers over the past 20 years for national and international plastic surgery conferences.  Dr. Worland has been practicing plastic reconstructive surgery since 1977.

Alice Taylor, CNM, NP, MPH,  specializes in Midwifery, womens health and skin care.  Alice received her Nursing degree from Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing in New York, NY.  She went on to obtain her Nurse-Midwifery certification from the College of Allied Health Care Professions at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY.  Subsequently, she continued her education with a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University School of Public Health, Center for Population and Family Health, New York, NY.

 HARM  KRAAI, MD             Urology

 

Dr. Harm Kraai received his medical degree from Wayne State University College of Medicine.  His internship was at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He served a year's residency in General Surgery.  He then received a residency in Urology at William Beaumont Hospital in royal Oak, Michigan.  For 23 years he was the Chief of staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, a 300 bed medical facility in Pontiac, Michigan.  Dr. Kraai's primary practice is in Brookings but also see patients in Gold Beach, Oregon.  His area of special interest is in treating Kidney Stones.
